Gasshodo was born out of two practitioners of Nichiren Shu Buddhism and their wish to support members practices outside of Japan. Shami Kanjo Grohman and Kanjin Cederman Shonin sitting at a table in the silence of the Tri-Main Center Building located in Buffalo, New York, there history began in 2006. During the two years that it operated it was able to support the new growth of Nichiren Shu around the world. Then Kanjin Cederman Shonin was directed to become the head priest of the Seattle Nichiren Buddhist Church and it was temporally closed because of his new duties. Now it back and better than ever! We have developed it to be an important vehicle of the Enkyoji “Mission” to spread the teachings of our Founder Nichiren Shonin!
